Ray Ban sunglasses are a classic style from an iconic brand. There are so many styles, Aviator, Wayfarer, Round, Square, Polarised or non-polarised. Something for everyone.
I looked around on various sites for advice and ran into this site ‘Sunglass Picks‘. Ray Bans have a great following, so findings opinions and reviews on the internet are not an issue. It makes deciding what you want so much easier.
The glasses I decided to buy were the Aviator RB3025, non-polarised glasses in black.
100% UV protection coating
Bridge: 14 mm
Arm: 135 mm
They are classic Ray Ban Aviator Styling. Thin frame with large, dark lenses.
Ray bans always come with a cleaning cloth, I am always still amazed at how brilliant this little cloth is, a couple of wipes and the lenses sparkle and you also get the usual heavy duty case.
I wanted to use these for general use ie: driving, gardening etc. The lenses are so dark, driving wearing these, in my opinion is completely out of the question. For general use these are absolutely great. The 100% UV protection coating protects your eyes completely from any glare.
There was an issue with temple pinch, the original setting was way too large. I got my optician to adjust them and they are perfect, so not a problem anymore. Just beware this may be a necessary thing for you to do when you buy them. I guess with glasses as we all have different size and shape faces, this is ok. Just bear this in mind when you buy as it is an added cost, I had to pay my optician a fee to adjust them.
The glasses are very light. I have a few pairs of Ray Bans and believe these are the lightest pair I have. It is great if you are wearing them day after day. In some of the heavier types they put weight on the bridge of your nose and top of your cheeks and can be quite uncomfortable after a while. Being lighter they are very comfortable. The flip side of this is they can fly off your face at times as there is no weight behind them.
Protect your eyes
Not suitable for driving
May need to adjust the size
All in all, I would recommend these glasses for general wear, going shopping or being out and about but I certainly wouldn’t recommend them for driving as the lenses are slightly too dark. They do look good and they are classically stylish. Being Ray Ban they are well made and will last.
